"Mariquita"
Argentine Folkloric Dance

 
 

It was danced in all the aristocratic salons of the country between 1820 and 1860.
Also in rural environments until near the end of the century

CLASSIFICATION

Each dancer on its own and separatly.

POSITION

Dancers faced by the ends of the diagonal of the imaginary square dance

ELEMENTS

Basic step (starts with the left foot). Arms and hands in the following positions:  Castanet,
Coronation and Raising handkerchief in hand.
